SKU: MISC-TEAK-WW2-BB62-2P Barcode: 24643372
Crafted from authentic teak deck wood recovered from the Battleship New Jersey (BB-62), this display preserves both the material and construction methods used aboard the most decorated battleship in U.S. Navy history—the Black Dragon.
Measuring 20 inches long, 5 inches tall, and 1½ inches thick, the piece features the raised designation “BB-62” set against its original teak surface. Embedded within the board are two original teak deck plugs, a defining structural detail used to seal fasteners on battleship decks. These plugs are not decorative—they are authentic elements of the ship’s working deck, preserved exactly as they were in service.
Mounted on a solid teak base and marked “USS New Jersey BB-62 – deck teak,” this piece balances refined presentation with raw historical integrity. Natural wear, grain variation, and surface marks are intentionally retained, ensuring each example is completely unique.
